We had a good Valentine's Day. Colonel gave me an interesting surprised. He asked me to go up to the fourth floor in our building and look out the window. When I looked out I saw a large message written in the woods across from our home. You can see the image to the left. I was pretty surprised. He cleared out the leaves with his feet to make the I and the U. Then he found lots of light colored broken stones and made a heart out of them. It's difficult to see in the picture, but it looked great in real life. I always talk to him about a grand gesture for holidays. I'm not a chocolates and flowers kind of girl, so it's difficult for him to guess at what to get me. This valentines day was perfect. And of course, he gave me chocolates and a flower too. It was nice.
New Semester
The Chinese New Year is finally ending. Our semester is due to start on March 1 or 2. All the businesses will open up again and the students and teachers will return. Colonel and I are preparing to start a new semester, but honestly, we kind of dread it. I think we're both just so tired of teaching English. It used to be a means to an end, but we never wanted to be English teachers. After 5 short years (that feel very long) of teaching English, it's definitely time for a change.
I'm very happy to say that this will officially be our last semester working in this city. We've come to the end of the road here. After lots of praying, talking, and thinking, we've come to the decision to move from this location.
We're going to work hard to finish out this semester and end on a good note. After that, we're taking the largest step of faith we've ever taken.
Please pray for us and our future plans. Also, please pray for our family members and friends, that they will be open and understanding, as well as supportive in ways they've never been before. We're asking that everyone who knows us will pray with us for a change in our spiritual lives and for a change in their own spiritual lives, so that we can all go on this journey together.
More info to come!
