Yes, that was us on Sunday as we attempted to stay dry and still grab some food. The area outside of our apartment building usually floods when it rains, so it wasn't surprising when we had to wade through a bit of water to get to the street. We began our walk just like normal, but quickly realized that this day was going to be anything but normal.
The field that we normally walk across was already flooded. We had to go around it. Once we got past the field, we realized that the road was completely flooded. Luckily, there was a higher road that wasn't quite as deep, so we took that road. As we walked, we saw massive amounts of earthworms who were searching for dry ground. The birds were out and eating as many worms as they could.
Last night Colonel learned that in the months of June and July the school area gets completely flooded. People actually travel around in little boats instead of walking or driving. I guess it's time to get a boat!
