I was trying to save ice cream for the kids' birthdays. In this place, they stop selling ice cream at the beginning of October. I bought several small containers. They've melted several times over with the power issues.
The new teachers here aren't happy either. Several of them plan to leave at the end of this contract year. I don't blame them. Enough is enough. It's hard to even do our jobs with the situations here. Tonight I had to cancel class more than an hour before time because we didn't have electricity to see anymore.
Other than that, life is about the same here. All of us are really run down. We're suffering from lack of community, lack of friendship, lack of excitement for our jobs, and pure frustration with this culture. The things happening recently in the news aren't helping the situation either. More than that, the real issue is the lack of progress that's being made here. It feels like we're constantly chipping away at a wall and it's just not moving. We're coming to a breaking point. I don't know what will happen in the future, but something must change.
